I was officially sworn in as your Republican Precinct 307 Chair on Saturday, June 22, 2024. I am grateful for the opportunity and thank you the voter for electing me to represent you. I will do my best to communicate to you about Republican events, candidates, and volunteer opportunities.
I was raised right down the road in La Porte, TX. After graduating from La Porte High School in 2000 I followed my heart and achieved my childhood dream earning a spot on the 61st line of The World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes. One of my fondest memories and greatest moments during my time as a Rangerette was having the opportunity to perform in the 2001 Presidential Inaugural Parade for George W. Bush, and performing with Lee Greenwood at the Texas State Society Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball.
After earning my Associates of Arts at Kilgore College, I returned home to attend the University of Houston. In 2006 I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Public Relations; during that time I worked for CBS Radio. After receiving my Bachelors I moved back to Kilgore to manage the brand new $3.5 million dollar Gussie Nell Davis Rangerette Residence that was constructed on the Kilgore College campus. In 2007 I would begin my time on the Rangerette Forever Alumni Board serving as a director (2 years), President (6 years), and finishing out as Secretary (2 years). In 2008 I was accepted into and began the Masters program for Business Administration at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. A year later I would be faced with a stage 2 breast cancer diagnosis. With faith and a positive attitude I was able to defeat cancer, while working full time, and continuing on with my education. In December 2010 I achieved my MBA and a month later I beat cancer.
I met my husband, Jamie Boyd, in 2012 and in 2014 we were married and moved back to Houston. My dream job opened up at La Porte High School as a teacher for the dance department, and assistant director of the dance team. I quickly went to work to complete my Texas Teachers certification and worked at LPHS until I stepped down a few years ago to stay home full time raising my children. I loved my time at my alma mater and was very proud to have been named and recognized as the 2017 Rookie Teacher of the Year for LPHS.
In 2017 we moved to Nassau Bay to raise our family. I quickly settled in and have loved volunteering and serving this community on the Special Events Committee, the 50th Anniversary Committee for the city, NB Neighbors Giving Back, helping with the CANBE Reindeer Fun Run and the Street Task Force.
Jamie and I celebrated 10 years of marriage this year and love raising our three children, Jameson, Jackson, and Jude here in beautiful Nassau Bay.
